Dr. Russell Cain used CoreVu on his Piloter ultrasound to complete an abdominal scan.
The Study:
Patient Type: Basset Hound named Oliver that presented the Deer Creek Animal Hospital with a history of loose stools and GI issues.
- Lost ~25lbs over past several months
- Diminished appetite and will only eat ground beef and bacon at times
- Couple of abscesses along external mid-abd over past week
- Intermittent smacking/licking lips
- Taken rads of abd in past month
- Appears to have gas-distended stomach/small bowel/large bowel without having had ingested anything for some time
Results of Study
Note the lack of wall layering within the small bowel. As well as the small amount of free fluid in the left caudal quadrant. Here is an excerpt from the radiologists report:
- The findings in the small bowel are highly consistent with a neoplastic process such as lymphoma.
- Probable malignant effusion.
"CoreVu was great by not only helping diagnose and give the answers we were looking for but also having Jen walk us through what we're looking at as well as how to navigate our way through the exam was invaluable. Ultrasound is a great asset to have in order to raise the level of medicine you practice"
