Dr. Crystal Martinez used a Piloter ultrasound and CoreVu to complete an abdominal scan.

The Study:

Patient Type: Smudge, a 10year old FS pit mix, weighing around 38.4lbs presented for lethargy and vomiting.

  • Abdominal radiographs showed increased soft tissue opacity in the dorsal abdomen with a mass effect of the GIT
  • The ultrasound was used to determine the location of the mass as well as to locate any abnormal lymph nodes

Results of Study

The ultrasound determined that the mass originated in the kidney. That knowledge helped us guide the owner in their decision making process regarding prognosis and possible referral for surgical/chemotherapeutic treatment.

"CoreVu was very helpful in obtaining appropriate images in a timely manner with a quick turn around on the radiology report."
