Customer Spotlight: Mission Animal Hospital

Dr. Kelsey Bertamus from Mission Animal Hospital tells us about her experience with the remote-assisted ultrasound and her journey to find the right ultrasound for her practice.

After their ultrasound broke it was time to find a replacement. The team at Mission Animal Hospital was looking for a unit that had quality diagnostic images for a reasonable price. Handheld ultrasounds didn’t have the image quality they needed for the versatile applications a busy nonprofit needed. When they saw the Core Imaging Piloter their in-house general practitioner was impressed with the image quality.

The cost for image quality made the Piolter a no-brainer for Mission Animal Hospital. There’s a huge range of ultrasound machines out there and the Politer had incredible image quality for the price.

Dr. Bertamus shares that her experience with the Core Imaging team has been fantastic. Their representative, Geoff, has been there to answer questions, the CEO Randy has been amazing to work with and the team has really been a collaborative partner.

The Mission Animal Hospital team found unexpected versatility in their Piloter with the CoreVu Scan Assist Technology. They’ve been able to use CoreVu to connect with remote trainers on the Core Imaging team for on-going training. They currently have 2 doctors in training for diagnostic ultrasound via the CoreVu remote assistant platform. The training doctors have had a great experience and have quickly learned normals and scan procedures. The Mission Animal Hospital team wasn’t initially looking for a remote-assisted unit and has been amazed at how useful the support is to expand our team of trained doctors. The team has also been able to save time and money by training doctors in-house.

“The image quality of the Piloter has allowed us to keep ultrasound services in-house which is so necessary in a time of unprecedented staff shortages. There aren’t enough radiologists in Minnesota to do all these scans, so even if we did refer out diagnostic ultrasound–there’s usually not another clinic that can see our patients. Keeping ultrasound services in-house also enables us to get from diagnosis to treatment much faster”

Dr. Bertamus noted.

Dr. Bertamus also shares “I wasn’t aware that there was image quality like the Piloter in a unit that is sleek and easy to roll around the clinic. The Piloter is great for AFAST, TFAST, and complete abdominal ultrasound applications and is perfectly placed in between an expensive machine and handheld machine with poor image quality. The Piloter has been the perfect unit for urgent care, general practice applications, and specialty.”
